ย Theย N.C. Wildlife Resources Commissionย will host two family-friendly events to recognizeย National Hunting and Fishing Day, an annual celebration promoting outdoor recreation and conservation.ย 

An event will be held at theย John Lentz Hunter Education Complexย Saturday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., located atย 1017 Millstone Road in Ellerbe. There will be an array of outdoor activities for all ages. Attendees may explore interactive, wildlife-related exhibits and demonstrations. Activities will include fishing, shooting ranges, archery, safety demonstrations and a question-and-answer booth with a wildlife law enforcement officer. Registration is not required for this event.

Another event co-hosted by NCWRC andย Haywood Community Collegeย will be held at the college, 185 Freedlander Drive, in Clyde, on the same day, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Activities include archery, fishing, falconry, kids activities, food trucks, interactive demonstrations and more.ย 

National Hunting and Fishing Day, formalized by Congress in 1971, was created by the National Shooting Sports Foundation to celebrate conservation successes of hunters and anglers.
