Now is the time to review voter registration, early voting sites

Now is a good time for voters to review their registration status and submit voter registration forms, if needed.

The 2026 General Election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 3, with a host of federal, state, and local races on ballots, as well as three state constitution amendments. The deadline to register is 5 p.m. on Oct. 9.

Early in-person voting, which offers same-day voter registration, begins Oct. 15 and ends Oct. 31. Vote-by-mail ballots are still available. Request yours by calling your county board of elections office, or by visiting ncsbe.gov/voting/vote-mail.

Eligible voters can register at ncdot.gov/dmv/offices-services/online/Pages/voter-registration-application.aspx. Registration status can be checked at vt.ncsbe.gov/RegLkup. Sample ballots can be accessed at www.ncsbe.gov/voting/sample-ballot.
