Alumni of Tuscola High School’s Summit Choir are invited to a reunion on Saturday, Nov. 28, celebrating the program, which is marking its 45th year.
Summit was created by David Traynham in 1982 and has given Tuscola students the chance to pick a song to perform in front of a large crowd, sometimes alongside the school’s chamber choir. Traynham died earlier this year. The reunion will include a memorial to him and others who have passed over the years.
The reunion will offer prior participants the opportunity to relive old memories with old friends while also mingling with folks who’ve performed with the choir over the years. Programs and yearbooks from past years will be on display. There will be hors d’oeuvres, beer, and wine available. There will also be performances of “May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You” and “The Lord is my Shepherd.”
Alumni who participated in the program prior to 2000 will be hosted from 5-7 p.m., and after 2000, from 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28, at Wells Event Center in Waynesville, although guests from any year are welcome any time.
