Haywood County’s board of commissioners will remain all-Republican following a trio of GOP wins on Nov. 3.
Out of a field of seven candidates that also included two Democrats and two unaffiliated candidates, newcomers David Burnette and Jeff Stines led the way with 18.64% and 17.10%, respectively, while incumbent Tommy Long finished in third with 16.66%.
Stines, Burnette, and Long will join current Republicans, Commission Chair Kevin Ensely, and Commissioner Brandon Rogers, whose seats are up for election in 2028.
