The Highlands Biological Foundation announced the appointment of Leslie Manning as its new executive director.

Manning brings nearly two decades of nonprofit leadership and development experience to HBF. According to an HBF press release, throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to building thriving communities, strengthening organizations and cultivating meaningful relationships with donors, volunteers and community partners.

Most recently, Manning served as regional development director for Pisgah Legal Services. Prior to that, she was executive director of the Counseling Center in Highlands, a nonprofit organization providing free mental health services to the community.

“Leslie brings a unique combination of leadership experience, fundraising expertise and passion for our mission,” said Tom Holmes, president of the Highlands Biological Foundation Board of Directors. “She has already demonstrated her commitment to HBF through her service on our Board of Directors and Strategic Planning Committee. We are excited to welcome her as executive director and look forward to the vision and energy she will bring to this role.”
