Haywood Waterways Association, Haywood County Environmental Health Department and Jennings Environmental are hosting workshops about septic systems and streambank erosion control techniques on Wednesday, May 28.

The Septic Repair Workshop will be held 11 a.m. to noon, and Streambank Erosion Workshop from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the Haywood County Agricultural Service Center, 589 Raccoon Rd. in Waynesville. Attendance is welcomed at either or both sessions.

Staff will be on hand to discuss everything there is to know about septic systems — how they work, what are the common problems, the solutions and what financial help may be available for homeowners having problems. Streambank restoration experts will be on hand to discuss basic streambank restoration to a more engineered approach.

Light refreshments will be provided. The event is free. Please RSVP to Christine O’Brien at 828.476.4667, ext. 1 or  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
