To the Editor:
We are fighting the same battles our ancestors fought and that our descendants will fight unless we change how we are governed.
There are a veritable few very wealthy people who influence all people on the planet to do their will. This is not conspiracy theory but recorded history.
From Will and Ariel Durant’s “The Lessons of History,” to George Seldes “1000 Americans,” the list goes on and on.
This is an overwhelming concept, and very difficult to digest. There are many good people in the world doing good for the betterment of humanity. We must focus that good towards overturning a system designed to keep us all as virtual slaves. George Orwell said in “1984,” “As long as they [the general population] continued to work and breed, their other activities were unimportant. To keep them in control was not difficult.”
Consciousness raising is the first step to behavior change. If enough of us are motivated to truly make it a better world, we can make it happen.
