Moving up the scale toward enlightenment

Moving up the scale toward enlightenment

The older and wiser I become, the more I appreciate people who vibrate at a high frequency, not because they make everyone around them feel better (although that is part of it), but because vibrating at a high frequency requires openness, honesty and authenticity, traits I highly respect and admire in others.

In previous columns, I referenced a book by Dr. David Hawkins called “Power vs. Force,” and I’ve noticed myself referring to his teachings on several recent occasions, especially when it comes to parenting. This book is an impactful resource.

His research on human consciousness spanned three decades and from this landmark study, he created the Map of Consciousness that rates emotional states. The highest state of consciousness is enlightenment, which vibrates at a level of 700-1,000 and has only been achieved by such individuals as Jesus and Buddha.

Below that is peace (600-700), joy (540-600), love (500- 540), reason (400-500, acceptance (350-400), willingness (310-350), neutrality (250-310), courage (200-250), pride (175-200), anger (150-175), desire (125-150), fear (100-125), grief (75-100), apathy (50-75), guilt (30-50), and shame (below 30).

Obviously, the goal is to move higher up the scale. If you’re vibrating at anything below 200, truth and wisdom are blocked. And if you’re struggling with guilt, shame, anger or any of the very low-level emotions, you’re most certainly caught in an extremely low vibration which can often manifest as sickness, addictions, fatigue, relationship struggles and money issues.

We are currently working through an exciting but challenging decision for one of our children. At first, we let our conscious minds take over and made lengthy plus/delta charts and consulted with others for advice and opinions leading to a bit of analysis paralysis. There is no “bad” choice in the scenario, but as the decision became more complicated and emotional, I was reminded of Dr. Hawkins research and how vibrating at a higher frequency leads a person to the truth more quickly and with more clarity.

I’m encouraging my child to do some inner work to elevate his consciousness. I’m hopeful this will guide him to some answers. I’m suggesting he find stillness and spend time in nature without the company of others or a device so he can hear his inner guide more clearly.

Additionally, I learned that when faced with a hard choice, it’s helpful to put some space between the emotion and the decision. A way to do this is to pretend like a friend is struggling with the same decision. What advice would you give them if they came to you for guidance? This practice moves us to a place of love and willingness because we’re thinking of someone else instead of ourselves. Additionally, once a decision is made, a person needs to accept it whole heartedly since acceptance is a higher frequency emotion, as opposed to feeling fearful it was the wrong decision.

I want my children to grow up listening to their intuition and learning how to easily move away from low frequency states and toward high frequency states. This is why soul work is much more important than overexerting oneself for external praise or accolades.

The 14th century Christian mystic said it beautifully with these words:

“The outer work can never be small
if the inner work is great.
And the outer work can never be great
if the inner work is small.”

Whatever you have going on in your own life, if you stay stuck in those low-vibration energy states, you’ll never find your way out. It’s impossible to see the truth and light from the darkest depths. You must move toward enlightenment to find answers, feel good about your choices and lean into the highest version of yourself.

Most importantly, if you have young people in your life over whom you offer influence, guide them to do the same. Let’s help them learn how to turn away from fear and pressure and toward joy, love and peace. This is a skill that will benefit them in all walks of life, and as the seemingly older, mature person, what greater gift can we give them?
