Recently I interviewed Stu Helm, podcaster and Asheville Food Tours guide, for the “Ingles Information Aisle” on News Radio 570 on Saturday mornings at 8:00am (or via iheart radio).

Stu is always on the lookout for new restaurants and food spots and trends in food in the Asheville area. I asked Stu what one food trend was he was beginning to see and expected to see more of in 2024. His response was that he was starting to see more sandwiches on menus, citing affordability and familiarity as well as the ability for restaurants to source many local ingredients.

There are so many options for sandwiches …from the condiments you use to the type of bread, and of course the ingredients of the sandwich and on to whether you prefer hot or cold sandwiches…pressed or grilled.

What’s YOUR favorite sandwich?

Need some ideas for different sandwiches? Be sure and check out our Ingles Table magazine and recipes: Sandwich (ingles-markets.com)
