The public and military community is invited to honor our nation’s heroes during the “Veterans Concert Weekend,” which will take place Nov. 6–8 at the Lake Junaluska Conference & Retreat Center.
The weekend marks a major historic milestone: the 70th anniversary of the U.S. Army Chorus, founded in 1956 as the official vocal ensemble of the United States Army.
Festivities kick off at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, in Stuart Auditorium with a free public concert featuring the U.S. Army Chorus and alumni. The performance is open to the entire community.
At 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, package guests will gather at the Warren Center, Lake Junaluska’s premier event location, for “Celebration of 70 Years of Story & Song.” This exclusive evening offers an intimate look at the 70-year history of the U.S. Army Chorus through musical selections and personal stories from Army Chorus alumni, accompanied by a full dinner featuring hors d’oeuvres, a main course, and dessert.
To celebrate 70 years of the U.S. Army Chorus, Lake Junaluska is offering a special “Bring a Guest Free” weekend package for a flat rate of $299 (whether attending solo or as a couple).
“It is a privilege to host the U.S. Army Chorus and alumni as they celebrate 70 years of musical excellence and service to our country,” said Mike Huber, general manager at Lake Junaluska. “With our ‘Bring a Guest Free’ package, we want to make it easy for veterans, families, and music lovers to share in this historic anniversary weekend together.”
Only 75 packages are available. To book the two-night getaway package, visit www. lakejunaluska.com/events-calendar/70th-anniversary-of-the-u-s-army-chorus-concert or call the registration center at 828.452.2881.
