On Sunday, July 6, with the cooperation of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the North Shore Cemetery Association will host decorations at Proctor and Bradshaw cemeteries.ย ย 

The first boat shuttle will leave at 8:30 a.m. and the last boat leaves at 10 a.m. from the Cable Cove Boating Access Area off N.C. 28 near Fontana Village.ย ย 

โ€ข Participants are asked to wear sturdy footwear and clothing suitable for hiking and outdoor activities.

โ€ข Decorations are held rain or shine. ย 

โ€ข Participants may bring lunch, snacks and drinks, or a dish or two to share with those who potluck. ย 

โ€ข Pets are not allowed in accordance with Park regulations, and service animals must be vested and muzzled if they bite.

โ€ข Participants are asked to stay with the group. ย 

Access to Proctor (200+ graves) will be made from the west side of Hazel Creek, which will be about 100 yards of moderately steep trail and steps. Bradshaw (16 graves) is an additional 1-mile hike, and the last half is steep. ย 

Mobility assistance will be available for Proctor Cemetery, but limited assistance will be available for Bradshaw provided conditions are not too wet, slick or muddy.
