C.S. Lewis once stated that “The greatest evils in our history have been the result of gradual changes.” Sometimes the death of a community can’t be attributed to one single event, but to many deeds of immorality spread over time.
One of these could be the referendum for countywide alcohol sales in May 2012. Another could be the broad acceptance of dispensary and vape stores peppered throughout our area. Perhaps another is the slow-growing brewery and nightlife culture that eerily resembles Asheville’s nightlife. Still another could be the introduction of a social district in Sylva, opening the door for public drunkenness in our streets.
