In my younger years, I read Herman Woukโs โThe Caine Mutinyโ and โMarjorie Morningstar,โ but somehow neglected two other bestsellers, his World War II saga โThe Winds of Warโ and its sequel, โWar and Remembrance.โ
Inspired after reading David McCulloughโs tribute to Wouk in โHistory Matters,โ I recently picked up a paperback copy of โThe Winds of Warโ from the public library and am three-quarters of the way through its 836 pages of small print.
