Applications being accepted for Junior Livestock Scholarships
Youth who exhibited livestock at the N.C. State Fair are eligible to apply for N.C. State Fair Junior Livestock Scholarships.
The application period is open through March 1. Up to 25 $2,000 scholarships are available, in addition to one $2,500 Farm Credit of N.C. Premier Scholarship.

The Haywood County Fair will take over the Smoky Mountain Event Center — formerly known as the Haywood County Fairgrounds — Thursday, Sept. 28, through Sunday, Oct. 1.
Cherokee fair plans for 111th year
The Cherokee Indian Fair will return Oct. 3-7 for its 111th year, but in a new location. This year’s event will be held at the old high school site, also called the Cherokee Expo Center, located at 1501 Acquoni Road.
