President’s priorities are not mine

Priorities: $200 million for a ballroom in the White House; $1 billion to retrofit a jet given by Qatar. Contrasted by cuts to Medicaid and other safety net programs.

Protein is a satisfying macronutrient and can be found in both animal-based and plant-based foods. Included in this list are some that are plant-based that are also a good source of fiber. 

For individuals with celiac disease, currently the only treatment is strict avoidance of gluten. At your local Ingles Markets, you can find our brown shelf tags which can identify products that are gluten-free, but always double check by looking at the product packaging itself.

There are so many options now in the dairy section that it may be a bit confusing to know what to buy. Here are some questions so you can evaluate your choices on your own:

The pantry is one of many, rooted in compassion and community, but also in contradiction.
