Foster care donation drive
Each year, children in foster care in Haywood County move between homes carrying little more than what they can fit in a bag, often leaving behind the everyday items that provide comfort, stability, a sense of belonging and a sense of identity. The Haywood County Republican Party wants to ease that transition by collecting essential supplies and small personal items to ensure those children have what they need as they navigate an already uncertain chapter in their lives.
If you’re in a position to help, drop off new items at the HCGOP office, 297 North Haywood St. in Waynesville, Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Specifically, needs include suitcases, duffel bags, backpacks, hygiene products, paper towels and toilet paper, underwear (kids and teens), shoes and household cleaning products.
Donations to relevant organizations will be made sometime in July, so there’s plenty of time to make a small difference in the life of a vulnerable child.
