I’m a fan of coffee but keep in mind that calories can easily add up!

Calories          Ingredient

2                     8 oz brewed black coffee

3                     2 tsp sugar

40                    2 TBSP half and half

______________________________________

74 calories for a tall simple coffee beverage

Remember, the bigger the beverage often the more calories it will have!

Here are some ways to cut the calories but still enjoy that favorite hot or cold coffee drink:

Opt for smaller rather than a larger size.

Get milk or a plant-based beverage instead of half and half or go without any added creamer.

Use less sugar or use non-caloric sugar substitutes.

If your beverage is pre-sweetened with a syrup ask if the syrup can be sugar-free or ask if they can use less of it.

Keep your beverages simple.  When you select coffee drinks with added syrups and caramel that can add as much as 200-300 calories!

Tip: Many coffee shops now post the number of calories in their beverages.
