A special stage production of Michael Frayn’s “Noises Off” will be performed on select dates and times Sept. 4-27 at the Haywood Arts Regional Theatre in Waynesville.

Widely acclaimed as one of the funniest farces ever written, “Noises Off” gives audiences a hilarious look at the unpredictable world of live theatre, where missed cues, forgotten lines, backstage rivalries and increasingly disastrous performances threaten to bring an entire production crashing down.

The comedy begins during the final rehearsal of “Nothing On,” a delightfully questionable British bedroom farce that the company is preparing to take on tour. With opening night rapidly approaching, director Lloyd Dallas is simply trying to get his actors through the show.

Unfortunately, there are still entrances to remember, props to track, doors that refuse to cooperate and an increasingly important question about where, exactly, the sardines are supposed to go.

Tickets start at $19 per person, with upgrades and discounts available. For more information and/or to purchase tickets, visit harttheatre.org or call 828.456.6322.
