Horse show fundraiser planned in Haywood

art horseThe Waynesville Lions Club will hold its 60th annual horse show at 3 p.m. on July 21 at the Haywood County Fairgrounds.  

The horse show features racking, walking, and pleasure horses and and will have 43 classes with more than $9,000 in prize money and trophies. This show draws horses from six states and more than 200 entries are expected.

The event is the major fundraiser for the club, whose primary purpose is to help the blind and visually handicapped, and the Waynesville Club also financially supports and participates in many local agencies and projects.

Gate fee is $6 adult, $4 children. Food concessions are available throughout the show. Corporate sponsors are Champion Credit Union and Taylor Motor Company.
