Old Mater Farm benefit to feature bluegrass, gospel artists
Old Mater Farm is set to host Junior Sisk and Darrin and Brooke Aldridge for its first summer benefit at 1 p.m. July 7.
Junior Sisk and Rambler’s Choice is a chart topping group recording for Rebel Records. His latest album, Bluegrass Junction won album of the year at the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America. Sisk boasts a traditional sound.
Darrin and Brooke are known as the “Sweethearts of Bluegrass.” They have been nominated as emerging artists of the year with the International Bluegrass Music Association.
Mountain Faith will host the event. They have recently been nominated for emerging band of the year and song of the year with Southern Gospel’s awards. Other bands include Cane Creek from South Carolina and Georgia Highlanders from Hiawassee
Cost is $10 per person. Children 12 and under are free. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Savannah Fire Department.
There are several chairs available, but it is always OK to bring your own chair. There will also be a concession stand.
Mater Farm is located on U.S. 441 South about 3 miles outside of Dillsboro.
