Tourism forum to focus on regional partnerships

Hoteliers, innkeepers, outfitters and other tourism-related businesses can attend the Tourism Partnership Forum, a free event that will be held at the Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center on from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, March 7.

The registration deadline is March 1.

The focus of this year’s forum, through the Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center, is the value of regional partnerships. The purpose of this forum is to continue preparation for the World Kayking Championships by creating an inventory of activities in the region. The Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center is located off N.C. 28 in Graham County, about halfway between Bryson City and Fontana Dam.

At our inception 20 years ago, we chose to be different. Unlike other news organizations, we made the decision to provide in-depth, regional reporting free to anyone who wanted access to it. We don’t plan to change that model. Support from our readers will help us maintain and strengthen the editorial independence that is crucial to our mission to help make Western North Carolina a better place to call home. If you are able, please support The Smoky Mountain News.
