Learn to knit in two classes
Sandra Beck will teach a two-class knitting workshop at 7 p.m. on Aug. 23 and 25 at the Jackson County Public Library Complex.
Beck will provide instructions about making a shawl or scarf over the two classes. Attendees will learn to cast on and bind off and are asked to bring a #15 circular needle with a 29-inch length, two skeins of yarn and point protectors to the first class.
Beck grew up in Waynesville and moved to Sylva in 1993. She began knitting in the 1960s and has participated in the Cooperative Extension Service knitting classes in Jackson, Haywood and Buncombe counties.
