Swain County's Leibfarth medals at Paris Olympics

Bryson City’s Evy Leibfarth is now an Olympic medalist after finishing in third place and taking home the bronze medal in the women’s canoe slalom event in Paris.

Leibfarth finished with a time of 109.95 behind Australia's Jessica Fox with a time of 101.06 and Germany's Elena Lilik with a time of 103.54.

She will compete in the kayak cross beginning Friday.

Leibfarth competed in the Tokyo Olympics at age 16 four years ago but returned home without a medal.
