WCU journalists host panel discussion on ‘fake news’
On Wednesday, April 10, at 7 p.m., the Western Carolina University chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists will host a panel discussion on the spread of misinformation and the dangers of fake news.
Panelists include longtime Asheville Citizen-Times reporter and columnist for Asheville Watchdog John Boyle, WCU Madison Distinguished Professor and Director of the Haire Institute for Public Policy Chris Cooper and Cory Vaillancourt, politics editor at The Smoky Mountain News.
The panel will take moderated questions, with an open forum to follow. The event is free and open to the public and will take place in the Apodaca Science Building Room 207.
