Wildlife advocates eligible for award
Nominations are wanted for people who have led the way in conserving nongame animals in North Carolina.
The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission is accepting nominations for the Thomas L. Quay Wildlife Diversity Award through March 31. Nominations must include a completed form and detailed essay explaining the nominee’s contributions to nongame at-risk wildlife species in North Carolina. Self-nominations are accepted.
The Nongame Wildlife Advisory Committee will recommend final nominees and wildlife commissioners will announce the winner at their February 2025. The award is named for the late Thomas Quay, a professor of zoology at N.C. State University and self-described “full-time volunteer and unpaid environmental activist.”
