Senior Games contestants take the podium

Haywood County is home to a slew of state medalists in this year’s North Carolina Senior Games. 

Winning gold were Betty Henderson in golf, Bert Medford in cornhole, Tom McAvoy in swimming and Dan Linker in discus and shotput. Cerry Meyer won gold, silver and bronze in swimming.

Silver medal winners are Paul Bartucca in cornhole, Patti Burke in performing arts and Kitty Crain in SilverArts-essay. Diane Byers won silver and bronze in swimming.

Bronze winners are Jack Guinn in golf and Wes Queen in pickleball singles.
