‘Living With Pride’ art showcase

Molly Herold. Molly Herold.

An exhibit dedicated to the Southern Appalachian LGBTQIA+ experience, the “Living With Pride” art showcase will run June 3-26 at Haywood County Arts Council in Waynesville.

Curated by Ashten McKinney, owner of Curatory Gallery, the opening reception will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday, June 3, during Art After Dark in downtown.

The showcase will present contemporary works that celebrate the unique, diverse sense of pride and some of the challenges the LGBTQIA+ community faces while seeking equality.

The reception will include live music by the Alex Krug Combo from 6 to 7 p.m. and an artist demonstration by Molly Herold starting at 6 p.m. Exhibit sponsor is Bridal Creations, with Starbucks the reception sponsor.
