A section of the Waynesville greenway next to Richland Creek at Vance Street Park is now closed for a construction project that will ultimately grow the park’s acreage.
Several trees will be removed and a bridge installed over Richland Creek to access another property, adding to the park. That project is expected to take a few months, lasting into summertime. The closed greenway section will reopen as soon as possible. Pedestrians can use the track and open greenway sections in Vance Street Park or across the street in the Waynesville Recreation Park.
