Noland certified in playground inspection

A Waynesville Parks and Recreation employee was recently certified as a playground safety inspector.

Michael Noland, outdoor maintenance supervisor for the department, earned the certification from the National Recreation Park Association. The program provides comprehensive and up-to-date training on playground safety issues including hazard identification, equipment specifications, surfacing requirements and risk management methods. Noland can bring his skills to bear on Waynesville’s six playgrounds.

Noland, a lifetime Waynesville resident, has been employed by the Town of Waynesville for six years.
