Fishing license scam reported
The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission is issuing a warning about a scam in which private online websites falsely claim to sell N.C. fishing licenses.
The Commission does not contract or partner with any other online vendors to sell licenses, so any purchases made through fraudulent websites could potentially result in financial losses and compromised personal data.
Licenses are available online only when purchased at www.ncwildlife.org. They are also available by calling the commission’s license department at 888.248.6834 or in person from local wildlife service agents, with contacts listed at www.ncalvin.org/wildlifeserviceagentmvc.
