Haywood County Cares — Roger Higgins

Haywood County Cares — Roger Higgins

Roger Higgins is the maintenance foreman for the Town of Clyde. He is also the town’s safety officer and zoning administrator. His department is responsible for water and sewer services as well as street maintenance, yard waste removal, and town groundskeeping.

The recent COVID-19 policies have changed some of the daily practices performed by the town. Water and sewer utilities are not being shut off for delinquent payment to help assist the community during this crisis. Normally scheduled utility maintenance has been postponed to minimize service outages for Clyde residents. The street department is taking extra personal protective equipment precautions when performing their duties including gloves, face masks, and frequent hand washing.

“I love my community, not only do my wife and I work in Clyde but we also live in Clyde and my children attend Clyde Elementary. During this time of uncertainty it is important to me to do everything I can to help the other members of our community. A little extra love and compassion can make a big difference!,” said Higgins.
