CFWNC, Dogwood Health Trust, WNC Bridge Foundation, AMY Wellness Foundation, Pisgah Health Foundation, Biltmore Lake Charitable Fund, Ramble Charitable Fund and Wells Fargo Foundation contributed to the Fund. Donations have also been received from individuals and CFWNC fundholders.

Members of the community who wish to support aid to those affected by COVID-19 may donate to the Emergency and Disaster Response Fund at www.cfwnc.org. Administrative fees are waived so that every dollar will go directly to assistance.

Grants to nonprofits will address basic needs exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Fund will provide flexible resources to organizations with deep roots in communities and experience addressing basic needs and filling public health gaps. Nonprofits will use a simple, expedited process to access funds with grants considered and awarded on a rolling basis. Nonprofits are invited to apply online at www.cfwnc.org and can submit only one request for funding at this time.

“While this fund is hosted at CFWHC, it is a collaborative effort by several funders to quickly provide flexible resources to nonprofits on the front lines,” said CFWNC President Elizabeth Brazas. “We are working together to expand regional capacity to address the immediate effects of the pandemic and to raise funds to address needs as they change over time.”

CFWNC works with families, businesses and nonprofits to strengthen communities through the creation of charitable funds and strategic grantmaking. A permanent charitable resource, the Foundation manages over 1,100 funds and facilitated $20 million in grants last year bringing total giving to more than $254 million since its founding in 1978.
