Golf tourney a win for charity

The Maggie Valley Lions Club raised more than $10,000 for local charities with its 10th annual Golf Tournament and Silent Auction held Thursday, Aug. 23.

That outcome is a marked increase from last year, which netted $6,000, and higher than the $8,000 goal for 2018. Most proceeds go to Haywood County charities, with some money going elsewhere North Carolina.
