Game on (the table) at fundraising dinner
An annual Wild Game Dinner hosted by the Wildlife Club at Haywood Community College will serve up a meal of home-cooked wild game dishes while raising money for the student group.
The meal, held at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at the Haywood County Fairgrounds, will be potluck, with attendees requested to bring their favorite dish of wild game, vegetables or dessert. Bread and drinks will be provided.
The evening will include live entertainment and a game and non-game calling competition. Door prize drawings — grand prize is a lifetime hunting/fishing license — a silent auction and a live auction will also be part of the festivities.
The evening will raise money to send students to the Annual Southeastern Wildlife Conclave, support a student scholarship and support additional learning opportunities for students. Admission is $5 for those who bring a dish and $10 for those who do not. Free for children 12 and under.
