Wills to bring Nashville hits to Franklin

art willsMulti-platinum country music artist Mark Wills will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts in Franklin.

Wills is known for his hits “Don’t Laugh at Me,” “Wish You Were Here” and “I Do (Cherish You).” In 1999, his album “Wish You Were Here” was certified platinum. That same year, Wills received an Academy of Country Music award for Top New Male Vocalist. In 2002, he released his biggest chart hit, “19 Somethin,” which held the No. 1 spot for six weeks and was Billboard’s Top Country Hit of the Year. It was also named the second most-played song of the decade.
