Scuba certs offered in Waynesville
A scuba certification course Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Waynesville Recreation Center will give wannabe divers the know-how and practice they’ll need to pass an open water evaluation and earn their scuba certification.
The class will consist of academics, pool sessions and open water evaluation dives. Students will need six to eight hours of pool work to be ready for their open water evaluations, which will be held separately at Lake Jocassee in South Carolina when the weather warms or in Florida over the winter for additional expense.
The course cost of $369 includes instruction, pool sessions, evaluation at Lake Jocassee and a textbook, DVD and logbook. Open to ages 11 and up with no experience necessary. The Open Water Scuba Certification Program is presented by Smoky Mountain Divers Carolinas.
