Azaleas in full bloom in Stecoah
The azalea garden at Stecoah Valley Center is in full bloom, but will only be for the next few weeks. Visitors are encouraged to go to the garden and spend an afternoon among the floral aroma and variety of amazing colors.
There is a one-third mile paved nature trail to walk along as well free high-speed wifi service for those who wish to access the Internet in the picturesque setting.
And, for those interested in helping out in the garden, which is maintained primarily by volunteers, there are two upcoming volunteer workdays. A planting day will take place at 9 a.m. on May 15, and a clean up day for the azalea garden 9 a.m. on May 23. The Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center is located at 121 Schoolhouse Road between Bryson City and Fontana Dam.
