Appalachian/indie act Jackson Grimm & The Bull Moose Party will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at The Scotsman in Waynesville.ย

Grimm marries folk/pop melodies with the lonesome sound of traditional Appalachian music. In a region with a strong music culture, it is no surprise that Grimmโ€™s songwriting is representative of his musical birthplace: Asheville.

His songs run the gambit from an homage to a traditional country waltz in โ€œIf Not For You,โ€ an unrequited love song driven by a Beatles-esque melody in โ€œIโ€™d Hold You (But I Donโ€™t Wanna Hold You),โ€ to a drunken party-grass song ร  la Old Crow Medicine Show in โ€œLast Train Home.โ€

The performance is free and open to the public. For more information, call 828.246.6292 or go to scotsmanpublic.com.
