Partner content: Ways to (Continue to) Help Western NC
There are many churches and community relief and service organizations that are and will continue to help in the wake of Hurricane Helene. Please make sure you check on what local area churches may be doing or need in terms of donations. Money is often the best thing to donate so they can buy what they need. Volunteer time is also often appreciated.
For organizations that help with broader distribution and services see below.
Please note that it’s important to check with these organizations BEFORE dropping off supplies to see what is needed. Many of these groups would welcome your volunteer time and financial donations.
1. Manna Food Bank — mannafoodbank.org
(Note: Manna Food Bank lost their warehouse and distribution center to flooding so are now are doing distribution at the WNC Farmers Market and accepting donations at their facility in Mills River. Please see website for details.)
2. United Way
United Way of Haywood County — uwhaywood.org
United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County — unitedwayabc.org
3. World Central Kitchen – Which has set up feeding sites throughout Western NC. — wck.org
