October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, so The Smoky Mountain News partnered with REACH of Haywood County to highlight some of what the nonprofit has done to help victims of sexual or domestic abuse navigate the complicated, often traumatic process of taking their lives back.
The issue hits more homes than most would imagine, and in the years following the pandemic, it has become even more pervasive, making REACH’s mission all the more vital.
