The Cowee School will host the inaugural Spotfin Art and Nature Gathering Sept. 25-26 in Franklin.
The event will celebrate the venerated yet imperiled mascot of the school known to scientists as Erimonax monachus.
The event will feature an art exhibit opening reception, workshops with artists and writers, field outings with local guides, vendor tables and a keynote address from author Zelda Lockhart.
