At its 33rd June 2026 General Session, the North Carolina Senior Tar Heel Legislature highlighted its broad advocacy agenda, with sessions focused on turning civic engagement into action and advancing practical policy solutions for senior citizens across the state.
Presentations explored pressing issues such as housing affordability, aging in place, property tax relief and workforce development. Together, the sessions emphasized NCSTHLโs commitment to empowering older adults, shaping public policy, and promoting livable, inclusive communities for North Carolinians of all ages.
Established by the North Carolina General Assembly in 1993, the North Carolina Senior Tar Heel Legislature is a nonpartisan body representing all 100 counties. Its mission is to identify issues affecting older adults and propose policy solutions that improve quality of life statewide. Delegates are supported by North Carolinaโs Area Agencies on Aging across 16 service areas.
