Cataloochee Ranch welcomes bluegrass legend

Americana/bluegrass act Darren Nicholson will hit the stage for an intimate performance at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at the Cataloochee Ranch in Maggie Valley.

A Grammy nominee and winner of 13 International Bluegrass Music Association awards, Nicholson has taken his own brand of mountain music around the world. 

HART presents ‘The White Chip’

A special production of “The White Chip” will hit the stage at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 20-21 and 27-28 and 2 p.m. Feb. 22 and March 1 at the Haywood Arts Regional Theatre in Waynesville.

“The White Chip” tells the story of one man’s journey through addiction, ambition and the messy art of starting over.

Scotsman celebrates Robert Burns

The annual “Burns Night Supper” will be held from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at The Scotsman Public House in Waynesville.

Scots all over the world celebrate the birth of Robert Burns, national poet of Scotland, largely known for saving the old melodies by adding new words to well-known tunes. Burns was beloved by many common folk for writing his poetry in Old Scots language that everyday people used. 

Festival of Trees returns

The Summit Charter School Foundation announced that the 2025 Cashiers Festival of Trees will open on Friday, Nov. 28, at 370 Mitten Lane in Cashiers. The festive fundraiser — accessible both in person and online — will run through Saturday, Nov. 29, with doors open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Pigeon Center hosts ‘Farm 2 Table’ fundraiser

The Pigeon Community Multicultural Development Center will host its annual “Farm 2 Table” Fundraiser from 5 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20. The event promises an evening of dining, dancing, local art, live music and community spirit.

The second annual “Great American Bash” will feature Americana/rock sensation The Brothers Gillespie and The Borrowed Band (country/western) on Saturday, July 5, in the parking lot of The Scotsman, located at 37 Church Street in downtown Waynesville.
