Cucumber, Tomato & Dill Summer Salad
With summertime comes a lot of tomatoes and cucumbers, either from your own garden or a garden of a friend or family member. Instead of bemoaning the abundance, I like to make a lot of salads with these delicious produce items. The recipe I am sharing today is one of my favorites. It works well as a light lunch or as a side dish for dinner. This is also a great dish to take to a picnic or summer party.
Black Sheep
By Sabrina Matheny • Rumble Contributor | We are all familiar with the expression “so and so is the black sheep of the family.” According to Merriam-webster’s definition; it is a disfavored or disreputable member of a group. We all have someone we can point to that upsets the applecart of our family. These people can’t seem to do life the way we do it, think like we do, or even relate to one another the way that we do. It’s almost as if they are from another world sent here to challenge the very core our belief systems, and honey, I got a news flash for ya…they are!
Darnell Farms - Fun for Everyone
There are only a few more weeks of summer break. My two boys have been busy attending various camps and traveling to and fro, but when we’re in town, I’ve been trying to explore this beautiful place we call home. Whether it’s a trek to downtown Asheville to eat dumplings and look in gem stores or a drive out to Bryson City to explore Darnell Farms, we’ve been making the most of each day.

We Won't Soon Forget
The fact that it was after midnight, two members of our party had been traveling for most of the day and one had to begin her travels at 4:30 the next morning did nothing to stop us from ascending the mountain on the banks of the Adige River to the church that overlooks Verona. That’s just what it’s like to travel with Loretta — and all the women in my family — full of heedless wonder.
Five Female Owned and Operated Businesses in Asheville, N.C.
Women of all ages are opening and expanding small, medium and large businesses throughout Western North Carolina. Asheville, alone, is home to numerous successful female-owned businesses. While there are many on the list, the five highlighted in today’s Rumble are some of my personal favorites.
