A special performance, “North Carolina Symphony: Classical Favorites Celebrating America 250,” will take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at the Bardo Arts Center on the campus of Western Carolina University in Cullowhee.

This enchanting evening features music from timeless masterpieces by Bernstein and Copland, along with the cinematic brilliance of John Williams. This concert offers something for everyone, whether you’re a lifelong classical music lover or a first-time listener.

Founded in 1932, the North Carolina Symphony (NCS) is a vital and honored component of our state’s cultural life. Each year, more than 300 concerts, education programs and community engagement offerings reach adults and schoolchildren in all 100 North Carolina counties — in communities large and small, concert halls, auditoriums, gymnasiums, restaurants, clubs and outdoor settings.

The North Carolina Symphony gratefully acknowledges financial support from Wake County, the City of Raleigh and the state of North Carolina.

Doors open at 7 p.m. This concert is a free event. All audience members must reserve a ticket at either the online or physical Bardo Arts Center Box Office. Reserve your ticket by visiting arts.wcu.edu/tickets or calling 828.227.2479. Patrons must have tickets in hand to enter the performance.
