Partner content: Think About What You DRINK
Often when we are working towards better health, we tend to focus all of our attention on what’s on our plate, and not what’s in our glass or cup.
The beverages you drink may be undermining your attempts to cut calories, reduce weight or meet your health goals.
Here are a few things to think about when your reach for a drink:
• Is the beverage pre-sweetened with sugar or any sort of caloric sweetener or what do you add to beverages like coffee/tea?
• How much of the beverage are you drinking? 8 oz or 18 oz?
• How many/much caffeinated beverages do you drink each day, and could this be affecting your sleep?
• How many alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, mixed drinks) are you consuming a day or a week and how many calories do they contribute to your diet?
Bottom Line: When you pay attention to what you drink for your health, that may mean switching to water or low/no calorie beverages more often.
