Suspects sought in Canton armed robbery incident

The Haywood County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance from the public in locating two suspects in an armed robbery that occurred at Galloway’s Convenience Store just outside the Canton city limits Friday night.

Deputies were dispatched to Galloway’s on Pisgah Drive around 9:15 p.m. Friday on a call involving two males who had just robbed the store at gunpoint. Initial reports indicate that at least one of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded money, then both suspects ran out of the store and was last seen on foot running from the parking lot north toward Canton.

The suspects were both wearing red hoodies with dark pants and both appeared to be wearing dark colored ball caps with facial coverings.

This is the second time Galloway’s has been robbed in the last four weeks. The store was held up by a lone subject that banished a handgun on Tuesday night December 22, 2015. In the first robbery, the suspect left the store on foot running from the parking lot toward Canton as well.

Anyone having any information regarding the suspects’ identity or whereabouts should not approach them, but instead call 911 or the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office at 828.452.6666.
