Friends of the Smokies trek to Big Creek

Written by

out bigcoveA guided hike along picturesque cascades of Big Creek in the Haywood County section of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park will be held Thursday, Sept. 20.

The hike is part of Friends of the Smokies monthly “Classic Hike of the Smokies” series. The hike will include the popular swimming spot Midnight Hole and Mouse Creek Falls. Hiking enthusiast and author Danny Bernstein will lead the hike. It is 10 miles, but relatively easy due to gentle terrain and wide trail.

A donation of $35 to go to the Friends Smokies Trails Forever program is requested, and includes a complimentary membership to Friends of the Smokies; or $10 for current Friends of the Smokies members.
