The race was named after the popular retirement plan, 401(k). Since there is no similar race of this distance, male and female runners will not only compete to win awards; they will have the designation of setting a world record. A “Kids’ K” run/walk looping around downtown Waynesville will be held after the 4.01K.
Cost for the 4.01K run/walk is $20 before July 14 and $25 on race day. The Kids’ K race registration is $8. Registration forms are available at the Folkmoot Friendship Center and www.LeeTiming.com. Packet pick-up and race day registration will be held at the First Baptist Church of Waynesville beginning at 6:45 a.m. All participants will receive a Folkmoot 4.01K race T-shirt. Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers, masters division, and the top three male and female finishers in their age divisions.
