Commissioners to hold public hearings Dec. 20

The Haywood County Board of Commissioners will hold two public hearings at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 20, in the Historic Courtroom of the Haywood County Courthouse.

The first public hearing will be for the purpose of receiving public input on a proposed Public Health and Solid Waste Awareness and Compliance Ordinance. The proposed ordinance was drafted by an advisory committee established by the board of commissioners in September. A draft of the proposed ordinance is available in the Recent Updates section of the county website,

The second public hearing will be to receive input on a proposed modification to the Junaluska Fire Service District concerning the removal of Lakemont Condominiums from the district.
